Castaldo Econosil Silicone Rubber
This synthetic rubber compound is an economical alternative to the traditional molding rubber. It is easy to work with, since it has the consistency of modeling clay. There is not need to cut pieces to an exact size to fit the mold frame. Simply pull off a piece with your fingers and push into the mold frame. It is firm but "cuts like butter". Even the need for mold release is eliminated. Strips are 2 7/8" wide.
Harder, economy grade jewelry molding rubber that still produces top quality molds with long use life. Suitable for every application including spirals, cores, cut outs and plugs as well as general purpose. Econosil offers less flexibly for better dimensional stability - less ballooning during injection, less constriction during clamping and less internal distortion of small, delicate details. Excellent for flat and simple pieces, filigree or other thin channels. Also excellent for pieces where high precision and consistent weight is required. Can be combined with Super High Strength rubber as an insert to add stiffness and hardness in pattern area.
