Made in Germany. Tungsten vanadium steel makes burs both tougher and harder. Only a small amount of vanadium is needed to increase the hardness, strength, and high temperature stability of steel. Vanadium burs generally have more flutes ground on them and have smaller teeth, which don't chip as easily. Therefore, jewelers can make more precise cuts with them. While these burs are less expensive than high-speed steel or tungsten carbide, they wear out more quickly.
