BURRO™ Bur Organizing System for Stone Setters

This is a system that was designed with the stone setter in mind, this was a collaboration with two prominent stone setters who provided their feedback on the tool design throughout the whole process. 

This organizational system was designed using the Busch Bur Catalogue, it should and will accommodate other brands, however, any and all information provided below does follow the Busch brand bur numbering system. 

How the system works:

The BURRO™ system sits on a soft action lazy susan for smooth rotation. the front hole which fits 3/32" burs allows for the placement of the bur that is in use, behind it is a compartment to store same size burs until they are needed.

This BURRO™ system consists of 7 layers: 

• Base (B0): This layer is for Ball/Round burs, it has a total of 47 compartments, which should accommodate all the sizes these burs come in. Ball/Round burs are considered the most essential burs for stone setters and they come in a huge range of sizes. 
• Layer 1 (L1): This layer is usually optional, it is designed to fit Bearing Cutter 90° Burs or Cup/Concave Burs, it also has a total of 47 compartments and should accommodate either bur style.  This layer can be purchased by itself if needed and can be stacked in multiple layers on top of the base (B0). 
• Layer 2 (L2): This layer is for Bearing Cutter 70° Burs, this is the second most used bur style after Ball/Round Burs, there is a total of 31 compartments.
• Layer 3 (L3): This layer is for Stone Setting burs, this is the third most used bur style in setting stones, there is a total of 27 compartments.
• Layer 4 (L4): This layer is mainly to be used with Bud Burs. However, the following styles can fit in this layer - Bud burs, Pointed burs, Wheel burs, Cylinder burs, and Pointed 100° burs. There is a total of 23 compartments.
• Layer 5 (L5): This layer is mainly for Twisted Drill Burs. However, the following styles can fit in this layer -  Twist Drill, Inverted Cone Burs, Flame Burs. There is a total of 19 compartments.
• Layer 6 (L6):  This is the top end layer and it contains 20 extra 3/32" holes for some odd and off-size burs. It also has 14 compartments to hold the GRS quick-change engraver holder.
