Important Testing Information

SAM is designed to distinguish colorless diamonds from moissanite—including low electrical conductivity moissanite—and other diamond simulants using thermal and electrical conductivity.

SAM should not be used as a standalone instrument to determine whether a diamond is natural or laboratory-grown. Natural and laboratory-grown diamonds can share physical and chemical properties that require specialized diamond verification equipment or laboratory analysis to distinguish.

For definitive identification or diamond-origin determination, additional screening with an appropriate diamond verification instrument or examination by a qualified gemological laboratory is recommended.
